Pictures, Perspective and Possible Intervention?

These are my BONUS pictures that my new buddy Nicole's talented husband took! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Meeting Nicole and sharing this marathon experience with her has been such a treat! You will have to wait for the next post to hear more about her journey and the fun we had! HINT 1: We were both thrilled to see that we were both short. (Technically I am 1/2 inch taller...but I am going with calling her my 5'4 buddy!)

DONE! Sub-4 but no smile?? Wish I had SMILED BIG, but I was just focusing on breathing, trying to not fall over, find any saliva I had left to swallow, and make it to a friendly face!

About to begin race! So much hope and excitement!!

Love this picture...this was right before the start.

Looking back...I ran well, really well...and just wish I would have enjoyed it more. Every day I learn more and more about FLEXIBILITY and Marathon #2 was full of changed plans, surprises and hardship.

I have been resting since the RACE but I have also been looking for another. Would I be CRAZY to run another marathon in 9 days? I want that 3:45...I keep reminding myself I have TIME...but my mind and heart want it now...not sure what my body thinks? I have almost rested a week...and think I am going to go for short run tomorrow?? So much time and training....feel like maybe I have more in me...BUT I could be so WRONG? I need YOU Veterans and smart, sane people to chime in. THOUGHTS??? I probably just need to let it go and maybe in a year or two I can try again, but I know the more experience I gain RUNNING the better chance I will have in future races??

Those pictures are AWESOME! Congrats on your race! If you feel like running, I say run. Just start slow, feel it out. Your legs are still recovering!

Oh dur I totally read the question wrong. Another marathon in 9 days, yes you'd be crazy. But you'd be in good company, and we'd welcome you with open arms to the marathon maniacs club, LOL! Seriously though, you CAN but the chances of another in 9 days being faster is really hit or miss...I'd probably wait if I was looking to PR, but that's just me! You know your body, it will tell you what to do!

Gorgeous pics! I have no advice for you, but you are amazing.

I love the pictures.

Personally, I would wait a few months before trying another marathon. Doing too much too soon is a recipe for injury or burnout.

Cute pics! You know yourself best, but if you do another marathon in 9 days, just be prepared for anything. I'm sure you can do it, but a PR may not happen (but then again, you never know).

Great pics Harmony :) It's hard for me to say no to a race. If I had trained and was feeling good like you are now then I might go for it. That being said, you just need to keep listening to your body. You don't want to risk injury. Congrats again. You rock!!!

oh darling...I am going to call you tomorrow. short version: I call my coach today and sayd "hey I want to run the marathon on July 4th"...(6wks away)..his comment "NO WAY!. Too soon, and you will hurt your body and it will do NOTHING for your long term development as a runner". boo. but after hearing everything he told me about those kenyan's and pro runners, I know he is right. lets do the Yakima canyon first week of april 2012...OR you can do one earlier and we can go to Boston?:) love your pics and so glad you're my new friend! xx

Oh gosh, I am so behind - SORRY!

I love these photos. Congratulations, girl! Still need to scroll down for the story/results!

I would not take a chance on another marathon so soon - even if you feel great, I don't think you could possibly be recovered. Accept this race, take the lessons with you, move on and work towards the next one.

These are great pics Harm! Captured some fab shots! I'm going to pass on the marathon discussion since I'm a novice and defer to your veteran readers! :)

See you later today!

I love the picture taken right before the start. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; and in this case, they are right. Awesome!
