#34

34 MILES to go. 34 MILES to RUN with only 10 days left in 2011. I actually LOVE the number 34. My Papa (who inspired this blog without even knowing it) played football at University of Georgia back in the day. While he was there they won the SEC championships. So of course I grew up being a fan and my Papa loved watching Herschel Walker play. He was #34! I loved anything my Papa loved. So if he loved Herschel, I loved Herchel. So I hung on to that number and even had it as my basketball number throughout highschool. Little things that would connect me to my Papa. When I see 34 miles left (I freak a bit..I am tired) but I know that my Papa would want to me to push on and not quit. I mean how else could I just happen to reach 34. :)

Before my Papa passed away I asked him what his favorite saying was...he responded "Keep On Keeping On". So that is what I must do with my miles, my life and my faith!

I am not a planner I do not have my miles mapped out (that may be a problem) I just wake up each day and see what I have left to give. Today I woke up and ended up reading Blonde Ponytails post and decided I would run 5 speed miles and follow her plan! So easy (well not the speed part)..I love not thinking. As you know things are emotionally tough these days and sometimes I struggle to lace up those shoes. So I am going to give it the old college try and see if we can do this thing.

Let me know what you have planned to run this week and maybe I can join you!

You can do this...your dad is running this with you, clearly.

Since I'm just coming back from injury, I have no speed workouts planned to help make it interesting for you, but I am running 10 on Saturday if you want to do that one!

Go get it!

I am the same way I dont usually plan my miles daily or weekly. I just get up and it what ever I feel, unless I am following a training plan and than I would plan out my long runs but not shorter ones. You got those 34 miles.
