St. Patty Run, a Cupcake and P.R.

Well I am days behind but thought I would post an update. My HUBBY did great on his FIRST 5K. He ran the entire time 31:26!! Awesome! My dear friend Sarah and her hubs ran as well and did great..I feel a 10K in Sarah's future! Proud of them all!

I also jumped on the CUPCAKE MARATHON (hosted by Cook, Train, Eat, Race) band wagon and joined in a virtual race! The weather was horrible! Cold, wind and a hilly route! Hills the first 6 miles off and on and with the wind I was sure that I looked like Fred Flinstone spinning my wheels! I pushed on and finished...and I was SHOCKED to see my time. A P.R. 1:55:11!! Woo Hoo! It really made me excited about my training plan and how much I have grown. Crazy?

Here is what my Garmin Frenchy had to say:

MILE 1 9:14
MILE 2 8:58
MILE 3 10:03
MILE 4 8:23
MILE 5 9:54
MILE 6 8:52
MILE 7 8:34
MILE 8 9:04
MILE 9 9:38
MILE 10 8:13
MILE 11 7:59
MILE 12 8:13
MILE 13 8:34

Average Pace 8:47

The rest of my week has had to be bit flexible as I am busy teaching a 20 Hr. class this week. So my recovery run was delayed but still got my miles in today..7 miles in the rain! Not sure how I feel about that!

I have been enjoying the LENT calendar. Some days have been harder than others. Tomorrow is drink ONLY water and pray for others...I think this will be tough for me. Considering I will have a late night training from 5:30-9:30 and I will really miss my Diet Coke! I think I will get tired of water when others would do anything to just have one clean cup a day.

So proud of you! And the plan is meant to be flexible, just get the miles in if and when you can. Take it from someone who missed 6 miles from last week...it is OK..

You ROCK!!

Those numbers look great! Congrats on your PR. I'm super impressed, & you're inspiring - I love to see other moms who make time to run. I'm just starting out & I'm trying to break past 3 miles, so I need all of the motivation I can get. ;-)
