Stop the Insanity

Well as I leave 2010 I have to give a shout out to my RUBY DOG who passed away last Feb. She was our first baby and I miss her so much! She was pretty much RAD-TASTIC!!

It was February that I rally began running and chasing those 1,000 miles! So, welcome 2011 and goodbye 2010! It has been a year of growth and blessings! I am amazed where the journey or running of my first marathon took me this year. Physically, mentally and spiritually I have grown and changed. I have worked on balance and priorities, and feel hopeful and excited about 2011. Of course I will still miss my RUBY!!

I have been having a tad bit of mental anguish trying to find the RIGHT marathon for the year. My kiddos need their mama so I need to plan my training and races strategically as to not take away from the fam. So this is where I am! I want to do another marathon and I want to P.R.!! This is what I am looking for: flat, fast, organized and pretty! I am stuck between the Eungene Marathon (5/1) and the Windermere Marathon in Spokane (5/11). But I am still open to other suggestions...so send me your ideas! Portland is still out there, but there are some definite looming hills. Or course I love the Rock N Roll series as well!!

Eugene appeals to me becuase I have never been there, and it would more of an adventure!! It would be a LONG trek and I may be solo. I have friends doing Windermeme, but it is just an hour up the road...so not much on the adventure end of things but with friends. Any of you doing either of these races?

So please help me STOP the insanity...and choose a race...SOON!!

I guess I didn't realize how serious you are about Eugene! I wish I had! :/

Well, maybe I can do 2 marathons in 13 days???

Good luck with your decision--praying about, yes?

As long as you start training now, you can make your decision closer to the time; you'll know it's right when you come to it.
Happy New Year.

Would say come and do Vancouver, but it's Father's day weekend and the only reason I'm doing it is because no other marathon works with our schedule right now. Gracious, gracious husband I have!

I wish I could do Eugene, but it would be a trek for me, too. Last time I planned a destination race, I just got totally stressed out. So, not this year! It's all about simple, close races. (AKA Seattle Rock N Roll)

So sorry about your sweet baby...I know how much of a void animals can leave...especially when they are family. Hope you have a great 2011! Good luck with the marathon choice!! :0)
