Help!

So last weekend was the big 22 miles and most of you have seen the blister that resulted from that run. I nursed it all week and only ran two days and it is still there. This morning it looked better so I ran and when I was done it was full again.

So...tomorrow I was going to run 15 miles but I am torn on what to do. I am 15 days away from GO TIME! I want the blister to heal but I that could take weeks. So what would you do? Is it more important that I get my 15 in this weekend and then long run of 12 next weekend OR focus on shorter runs?? Heading into my first taper with a bum toe so not sure what to do. HELP ME! On a brighter note I got a truck load of goodies in the mail today. Some cool giveaway's coming SOON!

P.S. Still having right knee pain so crossing my fingers my body will hold it together for another 16 days!

Enjoy the weekend...RUN HAPPY!

I'd run. Your blister will probably just end up being dead skin - wet and, then, nice and dry.

That was a pretty raunchy blister, but I'd still run. Have you tried duct tape? Put it OVER whatever bandage you're using and it really does help.
It might be a struggle to get it between the toes, and I wouldn't want it to cause a blister on another toe, but it was the best advice I ever got when I was trying to run with a blister.

I'm sure you have tried this already but you didn't mention using any body glide to prevent chaffing and blisters. I don't use it but lots of blogs I read swear by it. I think it's more prevention than repair so it might not help you much but if you get it started healing it might keep it on the mend :) All I can say is you are doing awesome and you will rock your race even if you don't run another step between now and then. It looks like you have a great base so stay confident and hang in there! :)

Definitely try the 15. Leave the blister alone and hopefully it will mend itself in time for the marathon. Good luck with it!

Good luck on your runs! I would go for it if you're not in a ton of pain during the runs. I'm not blister-prone, but I have a friend who is that swears by the Injinji socks.

could you wrap the toe to prevent skin friction and then maybe wear injiji socks to help create seperation in your shoe?

I spelled the socks wrong, their Injinji. You can find them at most running stores.

I had some horrible blisters in my basketball days. Mole skin saved me. It is kind of a thick jelly like substance that goes over the blister, you can cut it to the size you need and then wrap some tape around it. But you have to make sure the tape is PERFECT or that will give you a blister too. Good luck with it...certainly no fun!
