A First for Everything...

Today was my first time ever running 15 MILES!! It went well and was the ultimate test both physically and mentally. I was running solo and there were hills...gradual and what seemed like huge ones on the way out. Coming home I was able to ride the hills down but even that takes energy. I was tempted to find a flat route but thought it was time to see how my knee and endurance would hold up. I hit 13.2 in 2:11 minutes so I was happy about that as just a month ago I was was hurting as I ran/walked the seattle half and finished in 2:28. I completed the 15 MILES in 2:30!! So big improvement and I knew I could have gone faster but I wanted to make sure I could find the strength it to make those TWO last UNKNOWN miles of 14 & 15. Happy and shocked when it was over and I came home and hit the roller, advil, ice bath, stretches and socks....so hoping I am in good shape tomorrow.

I am quite sure that I never dreamed I would run 15 miles....BUT I did. As usual God amazes me and is with me every time I push myself to new levels. I loved the mommy and baby deer at mile 3 and the white butterfly that caught my eye at mile 14 (makes me think of my Granny who has passed away) I definitely gave thanks for healthy legs, a willing mind, and the beauty around me!!

I am off for the week so I will be running SOLO again and busy with family festivites for my brothers wedding reception. Hoping I can find the time to run and be prepared to adjust as needed.

HAPPY RUNNING...and welcome to my new friends in the support crew!! Woo Hoo!

Way to go! Its almost as if your injury is a thing of the past.
