Tell me about 2012

Miss Zippy someone who has always been encouraging as I have stumbled through this running thing and trying to be "healthy" thing posted this fun "tell me about your 2012 post". This past year has brought me to my knees many times. My heart and spirit has struggled to fight through the stress and hurt of dealing with my hubby's cancer diagnosis. There have been and continue to be some dark days. However we are still standing, fighting and running.

2012
Best race experience? Without a doubt this would have to be Rev3 Portland where I did my first Olympic Triathlon. This was way out of my comfort zone but I really wanted to see some my old Rev3 buddies and was proud to race for Ulman Cancer Fund and my hubby. The swim was so much fun (just slow). The bike was pure torture. The run was heavenly. My feet like the ground.

Best run? The Eugene Half marathon. This was supposed to be my third marathon BUT my foot would not cooperate. I downgraded to the half which was bitter sweet but it ended up being a weekend full of blessings. It was so much fun and a P.R. of 1:54:35. Beautiful weather, beautiful course and beautiful friends.

Best new piece of gear? Well with so many foot problems and taking care of my husband there wasn't a lot of shopping going on. However my husband did find me a super cheap bike to help me MOVE and prep for Rev3. It is very basic but gets the job done.

Best piece of running advice you received? I think time with my running buddies and little blog nuggets of wisdom always keep me thinking and growing.

Most inspirational runner? this is tough one. Definitely all the runners who participated in the Rev3 Run Across America for Ulman Cancer Fund. This was an amazing experience. I also love Emz. She is one heck of a passionate person, runner and mother. I need to carve some time out with this rock star STAT. Others I love...Miss Zippy,Tonia, Marjorie, Nancy, Patty, Amanda and the list goes on and on and on...I am blessed.

If you could sum up your year in a couple of words, what would they be? Keep On Keeping On and Believe

This was a really fun survey. I did it too because I liked how short and simple it was.

You are a strong and inspiring woman Harmony. I hope that 2013 brings lots of happiness to you and your family.

Merry Christmas!

Thank you for the mention, Harmony! Loved this blog. My favorite sentence that you wrote is "However, we are still standing, fighting, and running." That's my prayer for you in 2013 and Ryan's complete healing. We stand, and we fight, and we run with you/for you and the whole Davis Family. You are my hero, my inspiration!! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!!!

I love you so much. It is such an honor to be named on your inspirational list. And I hardly even run! Or maybe that's what makes me inspirational? ;-)
