More Portland 10.10.10
Here are a few more snap shots. The only "live" shots I have. We saw the fam at mile 20, but I think by that time my husband as so stressed and worn out "trying" to find me that he was in shock. Today I went for my first run post marathon and it felt great. I went three miles and loved being out in the crisp fall air. I think I will try to continue to ease into it more next week.
It hard to sum out all the things I liked about running a marathon. It is almost like I have little pictures in my mind from "moments" in the race but I am having a hard remembering it all. Similiar to child birth....the good parts outweigh the bad ones. I do know I want to do another, depsite the long training plan and time committment..I still want to do it again. I am not sure when or how. I would love any GREAT marathon suggestions?? Maybe a destination race? Maybe the Seattle R & R..(scared of all the hills)? Eugene is king of pulling me that way as well?? One thing I do know is that I want to NOT be running in the RAIN again! I also want to run sub 2 half marathon between now and then??? Hmmm decisions, decisions. Also where do I start in the mean time? Do you I keep doing long runs to keep my mielage base up?? Or start small and build back up? All new territory!
From now until December 31st at midnight I will be trying to run my final 230 miles for the year! I really want to reach my goal of 1,000 miles for the year! Anything is possible!

those pics are amazing! I feel for your hubby...it's hard being a spectator (learned this in chicago last weekend!)
You look great in those pictures - so relaxed. I wish I looked half that good.
I'm sure you'll reach those 230 miles; you have 2.5 months left!
Love the pics... and you can get in 230... go girl!
Great pics! Congrats again!
Great pics! Congrats again!
gorgeous, fun pics, girly! Love how much fun you are having! You can reach your goal for the year -- you will do this! in the bag!
You look awesome in the photos! So funny, I compare the 26.2 to childbirth too!
btw, I tweaked my hamstring again, got a bit ambitious on a 7 mile trail run. Trying to heal completely, but it's hard, especially since I have miles left on my 1,000 goal too!
Wow, looks like you had fun! I am from WA, I know someone else who ran Portland, she said it was horrible(yucky rain). I would love to run in the rain (I am living in Arizona right now). I am running my first full marathon in Jan, super nervous, just started blogging to keep me motivated! Got any good tips to finishing?
I would love to join you on some of the remaining 230!!!
So nice to find your blog as I start my journey into blog land! I was supposed to run Portland this year but tore my hamstring completely..yuck! Hoping to do it next year. I can't believe I live here and have not done it yet! Looking forward to checking out your blog more.
