Speed work and a yummy treat

So today my two oldest children had their first day of school. Off to 4th and 2nd grade! I know I will miss them but I am excited for all the new things they will learn. My baby starts after labor day so we have more time to hang (well she is starting Pre-K) but I can still call her my baby right? Life doesn't seem to slow down so I can get in these long mid week runs. So today I was so happy and thankful that my sweet friend Angela was willing to help me out so I could run my 9 miles this morning after we got the big kids off to school. She just finished her first 5K so be sure to stop by her blog and say congrats!

Today was my first time ever doing speed work. I ran 9 miles with 4 X 800's. I was suppose to do 6 X 800's but it was pushing 80 degrees and I didn't want to push my luck with my knee. It was tough and HOT! I was happy that my first two 800's took me exactly 4:00 min. The last two were closer to 4:40, but I'm ok with that. The entire run was at a 9:22 pace so I am feeling good and so so happy that I get to rest tomorrow. Friday it is 10 miles??? How do people do this? I don't see how mom's find the TIME that it requires to get the miles in for a marathon. WOW! I have about 5 1/2 weeks left of training and trying to hang in there! I am definitely going to be needing a PUSH or two...I can feel it coming. On the up side my miles are climbing. YIPPEE!!

I am also excited that my bloggy friend Stacie gave me a blog award that is oh so sweet.
THE RULES:

#1 Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?

#2 The second thing you have to do is, pick 6 people and give them this award. You then have to inform the person that they have gotten this award.

#3 The third and final thing is, thank the person who gave you the award.

ANSWERS:
#1 I have many bumps and challenges in life and I know that have made me who I am BUT I think I would have wanted to "let go" of some hurts earlier in life instead of hanging on to them.

#2 Angela at Mom-e-Memoirs She is a great friend who is new to running and a very talented crafty mom!

Anna at Farkles and Frinkles
OK you just have to check out her blog and you will know why I love it. Quick, easy daily smile and devotion.

Amanda at Fat Wuz Here She has been a great weight loss jouney and always inspires me.

Veronica at Navy Wife and Running Fool She is new to running but has been tearing it up and adding to her miles and her goals.

Jen at Setting You Free She is training for her first marathon and helps me keep moving and has a great weight loss journey.

Tricia at Endurance isn't only Physical She recently has a great post running being a Labor of Love and she is always helping me push myself further.

#3. Thanks Stacie for the yummy award. You always brighten my day....just when I need it!

You're welcome, Harmony!!!! You deserve it.

You are totally rocking your training. I somehow have to fit months into a few weeks. I'm stressing out a bit.

That definitely made me smile this morning! Thanks so much.

Love you. And keep up the great work! When you're trying to fit in those long runs and feel like skipping it, think back to those days you wanted to run so badly and couldn't. Maybe that will give you the extra push to find a way to make them work in your schedule. :)

You are doing fabulous with your training! I don't have kids yet so I can't even imagine how hard it is to juggle everything!
