GREASE lightning...

So I took another REST day as my ears and throat were killing me all night. All day I have been feeling like I have been in a funk. Just needed a little boost or push to get jump started again. I am hopeful for tomorrow being a NEW DAY! Hoping to sleep well and MAKE myself get up early and go workout. I have a 100K relay in two weeks and I want to be ready! My leg is 9 miles.

So I have been pondering a fond name for my trusty Garmin Forerunner. When suddenly it came to me.......FRENCHY (Forerunner). You know Frenchy from the movie Grease. Kind of a spastic, spicy, determined dreamer! Sounds like a match to me. So with that I am excited to take Frenchy on a run this week.

OK back to the game. GO BUTLER!!!

I replied to your comment on my blog via email reply. I wasn't sure if worked so here is my reply to you:

It is SO not out of reach! You can do it!!! As long as you have a plan and stick to it you will be prepared when those long runs come on the calendar! I think once you start and get in the throes of training you look forward to accomplishing it! The sense of pride is indescribable! My longest run was 15.67 miles! And then I failed at my 18 miler, so this 20 was kind of do it or don't, and don't was not an option! I had put so much time and training and sweat into this to not do it!

today I am feeling really good! i would say I am feeling better than I did after some of my half marathons! I think it is the fact that training has prepared me for this! So trust in your training! Know that you can do it! Take is slow and easy! When I got home I made myself a protein shake and drank that to feed my brain, which was seriously starving. I couldn't really think clearly. I think I should have taken at least one more Gu in there after the 10 mile mark. Anyway, then I had some pasta and laid on the couch with my feet up for a couple of hours while wearing my recovery sock. I took some Ibuprofen for my hip and am on the three times a day regime for now to get the inflammation under control. I feel really good today and will be hitting the road tomorrow for a short 4 or 5 miler!

good luck! You can do it! I know it!!!
