First of Happy Birthday to my Lovely L....she turned 7 today. Her little sister will turn 4 on Saturday and then I will post some b-day pics!!
So I'm feeling a bit under the weather and took today to rest. Tomorrow I will be doing a group training with my amazing "trainer" early, early in the morning. I am looking forward to working hard just hope I am feeling better. I do feel like I am getting stronger which makes the works out not so painful. I'll let ya know how it goes.
On Tuesday I tried my first 4 mile tempo run.
Mile One 9:30
Mile Two 9:17
Mile Three 8:57
Mile Four 8:40
It was tough and I was glad when it was over but I was happy to be able to hold that pace. Trying to figure out how and when to change those times and how often I should do tempo runs is something I'm still working on??? So much to learn.
I also learned this week that I can count miles on the eliptical as well towards my 1000 miles in 2010. I am not sure if I will do this. I like the idea of RUNNING all my miles, but not sure if it's realistic.
This week I had a good lesson on how GOOD I really have it! I am doing a study and one of the challenges was to give up water for a day. As I began to think about not having water during the day...I really started to freak out a bit. The thought of not even having a sip seemed like a big deal. It made me think how accessible my water is to me. Before and after work outs...I drink several water bottles as well as do laundry, shower, and cook...all involving water. The excerise made me think about how so many people....children, babies, mothers, fathers, siblings...go WITHOUT water everyday.
So I had a big moment of weakness and thankfullness and realized how much I really do depend on God...for everything. Awareness is a powerful thing. Can you go a day with water??? If you give it a try...I would love to hear how it goes.
